The telephonic conversation classes provide the perfect supplement to your Spanish studies and help to consolidate what you have learnt, allowing you to practise your spoken Spanish if you already have some sort of knowledge of the language.
The advantage telephone classes have over face-to-face lessons for example our personalised plan:
-
Short term results. It is a well known fact in the language world that telephonic conversations, lacking the interaction and facial perception of the other interlocutor, make the communication more acute and less dense, getting rid of all the information provided to us by the verbal communication of for example a face-to-face discussion. When this happens, another sense, the sense of hearing, is obliged to tune itself up to make up for the fact that there is no visual communication. Without a doubt, this is an advantage, as the sharpening of our audible comprehension means that face-to-face conversations become much simpler.
-
A Spanish class by phone, subject to the tutor’s agreement, can be carried out whenever is most convenient for you, on the train, from the office, from the comfort of your own home, you can obtain a telephonic conversation class.
-
The possibility of dealing with different accents. You can apply for a call from a teacher from Andalucía, or from Colombia, practice with more Castilian Spanish, etc. Changing the interlocutor in order to acquire the shades of these will undoubtedly help you to solve problems in any environment.
-
Economic. £7 for 20 minutes.
What are the classes like?
It’s not about talking about the time, or what was on your last shopping list. The telephonic classes are intended so the student may both practise their spoken Spanish and benefit from whatever issues may arise, be they intercultural, grammatical, lexical, etc.
The proceedings are as follows:
-
Once the student has acquired their conversation package (10 lessons), the teacher assigned will send (by e-mail) a task which the student should carry out before the ensuing lesson. This could be to read a newspaper article, listen to a song, match a Spanish film or a video on Youtube, etc.
-
The student carries out the task set by the teacher.
-
When the phone call takes place, the teacher will propose conversation exercises based on the skills that the student would like to improve (pronunciation, understanding humour, vocabulary etc) and the task set.
Who calls who?
So that the cost of the call is minimum or nil, we will always endeavour to carry out a landline to landline communication. Be this, or any other method, the preference, it will be the student who makes the call.
